Before you have convinced yourself that you are in love with my work and want me to shoot your wedding, I thought I would save you the time and worry of having to ask some essential questions.
DO YOU TRAVEL?
Short answer.. YES. I love it. Who doesn't? I get pretty excited when I get invited to shoot a wedding interstate or overseas, or anywhere new in fact. So if you are thinking about eloping overseas, or you are inquiring from anywhere outside of QLD, Australia, not to worry. I'll come to you.
In order to make this happen, I ask that my travel costs be covered. Each situation is unique, and I'm always happy to negotiate. So don't be afraid to tell me you're getting married on the North Pole.
How many photos will we receive?
This depends on how big and extravagant your wedding is. I don't really hold back when I am taking photos on a wedding day, so I usually have A LOT to cull through. I am selective when I cull, but always include photos that are significant to the story line of your day. On average each wedding creates between 500 - 700 images. Only the best ones are presented to you, fully edited at high resolution.
when do we receive our photos?
You and your partner will be presented with a preview gallery 3 weeks after your wedding day. This is your very own blog gallery that is laid out to illustrate the story of your day, as it unfolded before my lens. It is an amazing and convenient way to share your love story with your loved ones, with out having to invite each and everyone around for tea to view the album.
You will receive the final hard copies of your images 8 weeks after your wedding day.
Do you use a second shooter?
I have only ever used a second shooter in the past at the request of the couple. This was due to a number of reasons, specifically the long distance between the bride and groom's place of preparation, or the couple wanting to have the guests photographed during the time the portraits are being taken. Other than these very specific reasons, I am confidant that I can capture the day in its entirety without the need of a second photographer. If you think you might need one for whatever reason, give us a bell and let me know your circumstances. I have become quite apt at time management, and can usually wrangle out a pretty good shooting schedule. The cost of a second shooter is $500 for three hours or $900 for six.
Do you take family photos on the day?
ABSOLUTELY! This is an essential part of every wedding day, and I will always recommend it be done. They might seem quaint and insignificant now, but in 20,30,50 years time, they will become the most treasured of ALL your wedding photos. Family is everything, and no other time in your life will this group of people be in the same place at the same time.
Do you make albums?
I sure do, and you have to get one! In this day and age, it is all too common that our photos become entombed on our hard drives or on a CD in the back of the cupboard, never seeing the light of day. And this makes me sad. These aren't just photographs, these are moments captured on what will become one of the best days of your lives! These living memories deserve the right to live in a place where they will be appreciated. And I can't think of a better place to be, than in a hand bound archival fine art book. The company I use to make my albums are the best around, and you won't be disappointed. Click HERE for a link to some images I have made. But they really need to be picked up and held, smelt even, to really appreciate the exquisite quality they behold.
I also offer fine art prints, should you want something framed for your wall. Another great place for your photos to get some attention.
How much do you charge?
I'd love for you to get in touch with me before we talk dollars. I really want to attract the right kind of couple who see the investment in hiring a passionate professional to capture their day, and not someone who is going to be shopping around for the best price. So get in touch HERE, share your story with me, and I (or more likely Rosie) will send you our price list.
But just so you know, my prices begin at $3500.
WE LOVE YOUR WORK. HOW DO WE BOOK YOU?
Firstly, I really recommend that we try and meet in person before locking anything in. Having a good connection is imperative to ensure that you feel comfortable with me being around for the entire day. As I live on the Sunshine Coast, in QLD, Australia, I can't always meet up with people in person, so a Skype meeting is the next best thing.
Once you are convinced that I am your Man for the day, I will then ask for a $1200 non-refundable deposit to lock in your date. It is common that I could have other enquiries for the same date as yours, so I highly encourage you to speed up your decision making process. If I don't hear back from you after 3 weeks from the initial email response, I will assume that you have moved on and open the date up to other enquiries.
I hope this has answered some of your questions? If not, then shoot them my way below in the 'WRITE ME' section.
